In September 2022 the course was given a new home page tab called Resources. This is a place to add relevant documents, links videos etc. related to that course.
If you want to transfer an existing Document Library document (or link to that document) to the Resources tab then take the following steps:
STEP 1
Go to the HOME PAGE and click on the IMAGE and DOCUMENT LIBRARY tile
STEP 2
Select a Library tile item
STEP 3
Right Click on each of the documents in the Downloads area (on the right hand side of the page). Write down or copy the name of the file.
NOTE: if you have more than one file or link then you can copy the names and links to a word document or text editor so that you can use them during the later steps without having to come back and forth for each link. e.g.
Alternatively you can open multiple browser tabs to copy and paste these to the next step.
STEP 4
Go to SITE ADMIN > CONTENT > COURSES and search for the course you want to add the links to. Then click on the edit course icon
STEP 5
In the Resources box type the words you want to appear along with any description for learners. Then highlight (select) the words that you want to be a hyperlink ( 1 ) and then click on the Link icon in the toolbar ( 2 )
STEP 6
In the LINK INFO > URL box add the hyperlink (or paste it). Note you can amend the text shown on screen here if required
STEP 7 *** IMPORTANT ***
Make sure to select New Window (_blank) from the drop down list in the Target tab. This opens any PDF document or website in a new tab rather than navigating the user away from the LMS in the same tab.
STEP 8
Press OK to save and close the pop up
STEP 9
Press Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen
STEP 10
Test to see if the link is working by navigating to ADMIN > CONTENT > COURSES - search for the course and click the course Name on the left hand sidr
click on the Resources tab and then click the link (or links)
